Podiatry Home Visits

Home visits are available for patients who cannot safely attend the clinic. If you are able to come to the clinic and are choosing a home visit for convenience, we reserve the right to refuse a home visit so we can prioritise patients who genuinely need this service.

Property access requirement

Your property must be accessible by road with safe parking nearby. We do not take vehicles down track roads (for example, farm tracks) or routes that are unsuitable for safe vehicle access.

How home visit booking works

Home visits are booked by phone.

1. Register first You must register online or by phone (speaking to us) before we can book your home visit.

2. We book the day, not a time Home visits are booked as a day-only appointment. We do not allocate a time when you book.

3. Time allocated in the week of your visit The podiatrist plans the route for the day, so times are confirmed in the week of your appointment.

4. Confirmation call (usually Tuesday)We generally phone on the Tuesday prior to your appointment day to give you an approximate time.

You must keep the full day clear until we phone, as the final time depends on the route.

Penicuik (and surrounding areas, including Roslin)

Edinburgh (and surrounding areas)

As a guide, we generally cover South Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Musselburgh, and surrounding areas. Gorebridge is included (travel time applies). If you are unsure, you can still book and we will contact you if there are any issues.

Peebles (and surrounding areas, including Eddleston)

Innerleithen is charged under the Edinburgh home visit area due to travel distance.

Appointment type notes

• First Appointment: recommended for new patients or new problems requiring a fuller assessment.

• Regular: routine or follow-up appointment.

• Couple: two appointments at the same address, booked together in one time slot.

• New Partner Admin (one-off add-on): if we already see one person and their partner is being added for the first time, book a Couple appointment and add this one-off fee to cover registration and the additional time needed for the first examination.
