Nail Fungus Testing
Price
£90

Fungal Nail Test & Treatment Plan (£90)
Thickened, discoloured or crumbly nails are often assumed to be fungal, but many nail changes are caused by trauma, skin conditions, or long-term pressure from footwear. Our Fungal Nail Test & Treatment Plan provides a same-appointment assessment and immediate test results, so you can leave with clarity and next steps on the day.
What’s included
Medical nail assessment (appearance, pattern, history, contributing factors)
In-clinic fungal screening from a nail sample with results available immediately
Results explained during your appointment, with clear recommendations
Practical management advice (nail care, footwear guidance, hygiene, reinfection prevention)
If appropriate, guidance on GP-prescribed antifungal medication and what to request from your GP
Why immediate results matter
If you’re tested via a GP, nail samples are commonly sent away to a laboratory, and results can take multiple weeks to return. Our in-clinic test provides immediate results, helping you:
understand straight away whether fungus is likely involved
avoid weeks of uncertainty
start the most appropriate management without delay
Our approach to treatment
We focus on evidence-led, cost-effective care. We don’t routinely recommend dedicated fungal nail treatments such as laser or some chemical-based systems, as they can be costly and results can be variable. After examination, we usually advise either:
GP-prescribed medication (when appropriate and safe), or
general podiatry/medical nail management, which we find is effective for the vast majority of cases
Price
£90 (includes assessment, immediate test results, and a personalised plan)
